The University affirms the essential role of research for the advancement of knowledge and the achievement of objectives of significant scientific, cultural, economic and social interest. To this end it promotes research, both by supporting the autonomous proposal of the University structures, and by supporting actions aimed at obtaining contributions and external resources.
In this context, the research activities of the Department of Private Law and History of Law are aimed at a critical analysis of national and international law, doctrine and jurisprudence, in a historical and comparative perspective. With these specific aims, the Department of Private Law and History of Law develops autonomous and innovative lines of research, also giving life to conferences, seminars, conferences aimed at disseminating knowledge linked to the issues of law and justice.
